Abilities
Destreza A strict sword-based martial art style that's traditionally taught to Liberi and not Aegir, of which Thorns is a prodigy in. The style is said to require excellent physical fitness and has demanding requirements both on the mind and body, but once mastered, has excellent payoff. The specific style is marked by being fast and difficult for the enemy to perceive, with heavy and accurate swings. Thorns has also been shown to kick enemies that get too close to him in melee combat, though this doesn't necessarily seem to be part of Destreza. He has a high range as well, being able to hit several feet in front of him by flinging projectiles made with his Arts (magic) using the tip of his sword.

⯌ Neurotoxins Thorns is a pharmacologist and toxicologist who is proficient in brewing neurotoxins, as well as the extraction & purification of compounds (especially toxic ones). In battle, his neurotoxins are used for incapacitation and sometimes for outright murder. These neurotoxins are infused into his sword as well, though which type he uses will depend on the situation. He's able to switch the type out on a dime using a device hooked up to the sword that he keeps in his bag.

⯌ Alchemy A forbidden form of Arts from Iberia, which has numerous uses. For Thorns, these include: defense increasing, healing, reducing healing effects for enemies, dealing damage via DoT effect, debuffing enemies attack/defense/resistance (all done via manipulating a spherical, geometric bunch of metal that essentially has an AoE field for whichever effect is needed (yes this is complex here is a handy video)), and creating metal out of essentially nothing. All of this is controlled through conjuration in his metal arm and a substance known as the Corazonix.

Corazonix This is the substance that has covered/replaced his right arm. It can create metal out of nothing, and he can also use this to repair things that are broken, however it's said that anything created with his alchemy is subject to his own emotions — meaning if he fixes something and a week later has a highly emotional moment, the repaired item may well just explode. Thorns can separate himself from this part of the Corazonix to make normal metal that doesn't do that, though the process is slightly more complicated than he'd prefer to do.

The Corazonix also has a few more abilities: it is capable of protecting him autonomously. Additionally, the substance can act as a compass to point toward where he wants to go, be it the sea or some other goal — an object, place, person, whatever. If it exists, he can find it, assuming he wants to in the first place. Its last ability involves a sort of interconnectedness with life around him; he can sense surface-level emotions of others, sense life forces and heartbeats, and all of this acts like a sort of one-sided hivemind for him. It can detect the way the wind flows too because ?? reasons. It's so much, this powerset is so goddamn much.
Out-of-Character
⯌ Backtag Forever & always

⯌ Fourthwall No

⯌ Threadhopping Always fine

⯌ Threadjacking Ask for logs; always okay for network

⯌ Off-Limits Uninterested in plotlines revolving around noncon/sexual assault (as a primary focus), de-aging, pregnancy, or infidelity/cheating.
In-Character
⯌ Physical Contact Sure, feel free

⯌ Mental Contact Hell yeah let's do it

⯌ Flirt This is fine, although Thorns can be pretty oblivious to it.

⯌ Romance M/M only; willing to do crosscanon always. My canon-preferred ships are with Elysium & Lumen or both at the same time, otherwise I'm pretty open.

⯌ Fight Contact me first, but it's probably a yes after that.

⯌ Injury Contact me first; assume OK if there's a fight going on

⯌ Death Contact me first

⯌ Triggers Thorns' backstory contains a few points that may be triggering for both him or anyone threading with him including: the deaths of his parents as a child, growing up in a cult, watching people get killed in front of him as a child and having that framed as a Worthy Cult Sacrifice, racism against his race (Aegir), and loss of a limb. Some things that come up in his canon but don't necessarily apply to Thorns himself include wars of all types, war crimes (bombings, genocides & ethnic cleansings, etc), cannibalism, and an uncurable pseudo-cancer illness called Oripathy. I don't necessarily expect war and war-related activities to come up much in threads, but Oripathy itself is a big part of the canon and will be brought up with some frequency. LMK if you need to opt out of any or all of this!
